So I am planning my first ever wedding...my own. It's much more involved than I first estimated, even though I knew it was going to be a lot of work. Having said that, it was also a load of fun! So, before I embarked on this journey, I had a reality check:
a) I don't have much of a budget,
b) I don't have a wedding planner, and
c) I decided to have it up a mountain.
Not exactly the ingredients for an easy planning job.
And to be honest, I never thought I would get married, which is ironic now given it was me who proposed on 27 October 2012. Now I'm pleased as punch to be working toward this rather momentous occasion. I just wish it was legal for everyone to do should they choose to, as it's come to mean more than I thought it would and I have a greater respect for the symbolisation it represents.
So I thought it might be useful to write about my experience planning my wedding from scratch.
